The Diocesan Provident Fund began operations in 1961 in response to a growing need from parishes and schools in the Wagga Wagga Diocese for finance on more suitable terms than could be obtained commercially. The Diocesan Provident Fund commenced borrowing funds from the community in order to provide these loan funds. The Diocesan Provident Fund still borrows money from the community in the form of a range of at-call and fixed term deposit accounts. Today the Diocesan Provident Fund holds funds from over 3000 depositors. These include school children, families, small and large investors, clubs and associations, as well as school and parish accounts. There are currently over $44 million in deposits held with the Diocesan Provident Fund. |
